Week 4

So my estupido patient cancelled on me at 10:00 at night, which added to the joy of not even having an afternoon patient scheduled. Thank goodness my homegirl Mrs. Campbell got me a morning patient (who had some nasty calculus), which left me to go hunt the halls for an afternoon patient. Luckily I had ra ra sis boom ba dental hygiene cheerleader Natalie with me, and she totally got me a patient!! Never mind that he was a 1B, it was a body in the chair. He was a nice young laddie who just returned from his mission in Edmonton, Canadia. Oh, wait- Canada. Ha ha. Anyhoo, thanks to Allan D. for saving the day and being my patient. Another day of clinic is over!!!! Oh, p.s - My man Snoopy called today and left me a message saying he is back in town and wants a cleaning; I can't believe how serious he is taking this!! I love him! Also, p.p.s- I think Jeff totally had a heart attack in clinic today. I hope he is okay......

LUCKY!!!!

So, I am officially the luckiest hygienist ever. I didn't have a patient for this morning because I am a slacker and didn't schedule one. Then Proff. Gall asked me if I wanted a mockboard patient. Ummm, duh, YES!! Of course I did!! Her name was Kim, and she had a pretty heavy chinese accent, which made it kind of hard to understand and communicate with her. Nevertheless, after many minutes of talking myself blue in the face, I finally convinced her that she need a cleaning, she needed to be my mockboard patient, and she needed to be numb. She agreed to all except the last one. She said shots were bad for the body, and that she would tough it out, which she did!! She didn't flinch once during the cleaning. And I didn't have any errors, which, as Tony the tiger would say was grrrreat!!! My afternoon patient was a nice lady who turned out to be a class 5, which I totally don't need. She was sweet though, and now my day is over!!!!! Special shout out to all my home girls for cleaning up after me and taking care of my instruments, you guys rock!! You know what would be fun, if we had a party at my house this Friday super early, like 7:00 in the morning, and we totally studied for like 5 hours, then went to a delegate meeting, and totally pissed away our whole Friday on stuff that's not fun? Let's do it!!!

Week 2

Today I saw a nice little girl named Melissa who had the WORST BREATH EVER!!!! I have never actually wanted to vomit before, but today I came close. And talk about calculus!!! None years old and she had calculus like a 50 year old. Yucky. But a very sweet girl. My afternoon patient was also a very nice 13 year old who didn't have the best oral hygiene either. But they were both very sweet girls so it made it worth it.

First Day Of Last Semester

Today is the first day of clinic of our last semester. Somewhat bittersweet, but not really. It will be a happy day when school is over. I saw an 8 year old boy in the morning who was remarkably well spoken for his age, and very pleasent to work on. I didn't have an afteroon patient, but Mrs. Campbell got me one. She was 84 freakin' years old!! And she had the most wonderful teeth ever! She was very sweet and very smart for an oldie moldie. She studied bacteriology in college, then went to Australia to study baboons. Heavy duty stuff. Sayonara until next time.
