Melissa,
My comment is based on your questions that you asked Kami when giving her your URL. I have wondered the same thing about the job opportunity and the appearance of your teeth. I know that for myself I expected that my dentists teeth to look healthy and straight. If patients (which I was) expect this then I figured an applicants dentition would apply and be part of the dentist's decision. At the same time, there is so much that a dentist is looking at and some dentisit (themselves) do not have straight teeth. This has left my question in state of wonder.
Hola chica, como hista? LOL. I think you posed an interesting question. I have another angle for you. Why do you think it is that famous movie stars, i.e. Will Ferrel, Tim Allen, and Al Pacino, all have horribly crooked and yellow mandibular teeth? I find it fascinating that a mega wealthy person whose career depends primarily on appearance would not correct their teeth. Their closeups are broadcast to us on the silver screen, giving us an extreme closeup of their teeth. I shake my head and wonder "why?" Come visit me on Planet Maria sometime; it's transcendant. planetmaria.blogspot.com

Hey melissa
I did my ethics paper on teeth whitening and all of the information that I downloaded said that white teeth are connected to a better lifestyle, a better job, a better boyfriend/girlfriend/spouse. I totally think that how your teeth look affect every aspect in our lives. I also interviewed many dentists who said that they would only hire someone who had white teeth. That is not right because a great assistant or hygienist might not have the greatest teeth but could be a great hygienist and they wouldn't get hired in some dental offices. It is discouraging to think that so much rides on such a small part of our anatomy.
Thank you for the comment! You are so funny-I totally laughed my butt off. I'm glad everyone thinks my question is so interesting, and it's cool to see everyone's view on it. And yes--this class is totally better than ethics!! You're the best-keep writing!!
Look at you go girl! Getting your profile up and everything. Blog, you're it! ;)
